Male chauvinism is a phenomenon much prevalent indeed. Still we have folks who say, ofcourse not! there is no such inequality! I am writing this particularly inspired by the "non-chauvinism" that I foolishly believed does exist to quite an extent. The big lesson I have learnt - 99% times the non-chauvinist will redefine chauvinism with the phrase "the law of nature" - which is point blank nothing but, women are below men and must henceforth logically gear up for a life dedicated to the tending of children. Interesting indeed! Just one loophole before I shut up - why in the world are some wretched women born with passion outside of family welfare??
To talk about myself, Gouthami: 21 years old, female, engineer - not software engineer - chemical engineer, works in a plant - ? the girl must be in finance, HR, must be sitting in the reception, or probably does typing! What other work
can a girl do in a plant? Note: resume reads engineer.
can a girl do in a plant? Note: resume reads engineer. And finally after it is accepted that I am engineer after all - "the challenges arrive". According to a gentleman, (an engineer in the strictest sense, thanks to his X-Y genes) - If I am in this "job of a man", it means that I am doing it to prove that men and women are equal, which implies I must do night shifts like the other men - and in the case that I cannot, I must obviously quit the job and sit at home like it just suits me. One problem dear - I am not here to prove anything to you - especially not by doing night shifts among the desperate lot of lorry drivers, fitters and male engineers!
Sigh! So much for a job that requires neither any Einstein"ness" nor any extraordinary (must I say masculine?!) strength! Infact it is nothing more than eating and sleeping and tea-drinking to stay awake those 8 hours of duty. Bah! Should I even be taking all this effort to counter argue? Keep the job to yourselves guys!! i am capable of much better things !

Welcome to blogging!! Ur rant is pointless!! and thats exactly why u should blog!!! :)
Aww..ur blog sounds as confused as u! But nevertheless..i like it :)
Sooooo,...
there have been comments on this controversial topic - infact quite fierce ones.... the ones particularly standing out are those, which proclaim that I am mad to get emotional & that this is mostly imagination...or even better - I talk this probably coz of how i was treated at house..
treatd @ house part - well, tat is sure bullshit, coz it was at house where I got the good sense,....but the other comments,, I was left thinking - is this my fault? Am I imagining things a little too much?:?:.... when I hit upon this wonderful blog...

Check out the article "STRIDENT, HUMORLESS & SHRILL" under "Feminism" category.
Conclusion - I maybe "STRIDENT, HUMORLESS & SHRILL" - but I am definitely not mad or imagining this stuff..
seriously cant undersatnd what you are actually trying to say.. if you are judging things by wat a plant engineer says, then its going to be hell.. There are reasons why *certain* people leave core jobs!!
I dont think male chauvinism n all plays a part here.. just dont make judgements on the entire population based on a biased sample space.. i am not arguing to and fro here.. if you are giving a statement on the entire population , make sure you bring out an analysis on an unbiased sample space..
anyways, i like sriram's comment s hilarious!
have a good day!
one small confusion in the comment above..
plant engg is a male too - is he not?
Like I said before, this post came at a point when I was very emotional - so if I had been sounding like the whole of male community is chauvinistic - I am sorry.. sincere apologies, for I have seen a lot of good men in my life ( i have used 99% if u read properly)
But at the same time - i beg you to please not unthinkingly say that there is no chauvinis at all
i have seen it, heard it...
a lot of sensible, unsensible ppl have been giving very irritating opinions & doin very irritain things that relate to what I wanted to say....
one eg:
We go by a cab to office & any officer jus needs to sign on a book to keep track of kilometres travelled. I was sittin on the front seat near the driver today & YET...when the book needed to be signed, the driver calls behind the gents that they had forgotten - cud he not see i was sitting there?
Wat I am complaining abt is the mentality - Very sorrry again if this was not wat was delivered with the original post!
One other crucial aspect. Not jus men suffer this bad outlook - even the girls!!
